Campaign launched to reduce food waste

WRAP – Waste and Resources Action Programme – has launched a campaign to address the major issue of food waste. Love Food Hate Waste provides information about the impact of the 7.2 million tonnes of food we throw away each year in the UK, and shares practical and achievable ways of reducing it.

Wasting food costs the average family with children £680 per year, as well as having serious environmental implications; if we were to stop wasting food that could have been eaten, the CO2 impact would be equivalent to taking 1 car in 5 off the road.

Love Food Hate Waste makes recommendations to reduce the amount of food wastage as an individual, saving money and the
environment – find out more at http://www.lovefoodhatewaste.com/
