CELEBRATING COMMUNITY LIFE
IN RURAL OXFORDSHIRE
OXFORDSHIRE RURAL COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The Oxfordshire Rural Community Council will be 90 years old on October 8th 2010. Founded in 1920 by Grace Hadow, ORCC was the first of what is now a national network of county based organisations.  Recently, as part of the celebrations, a conference was held in Abingdon to celebrate both the work of the ORCC since 1920 and also the continuing success of the many small rural communities across the county.

The conference launched CELEBRATING COMMUNITY LIFE IN RURAL OXFORDSHIRE.  Earlier in the year ORCC wrote to all communities asking for examples of achievements, good practice, and details of a particular community champion who has made a difference to the local community. These have now been collected thematically in the publication showcasing hundreds of examples of community run services, facilities and acivities which go up to making rural Oxfordshire a vibrant and thriving collection of communities.

Further information about this publication,  including a downloadable pdf copy , and about the work of ORCC can be found on the website: http://www.oxonrcc.org.uk/
