NORTH OXFORDSHIRE COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
Providing food when the cupboard is bare

The project is an initiative of churches working together in Kidlington, Woodstock, Charlbury and Chipping Norton. They offer short-term emergency help to residents of the villages, towns and surrounding communities of Kidlington, Woodstock, Charlbury and Chipping Norton by providing parcels of non perishable food to people in crisis who are unable to purchase food for themselves.

Food is donated by local schools, churches, individuals and groups and stored in the depot. Supplies of food are brought to the distribution centres twice a week. Donations of food for the foodbank are welcome People in crisis are given a voucher by a statutory or voluntary agency registered with the food bank and they can then change the voucher for a parcel of food at the distribution centre.

The food bank distribution centres will be open from April 6th 2010:
  • Woodstock Baptist Church every Tuesday, 11am to 1pm
  • Kidlington Baptist Church every Friday, 11am - 1pm

  • Probation Service
  • Children's Agencies
  • Church Ministers

Statutory and voluntary agencies can register as a Distributor of Vouchers.
