The Oxfordshire Rural Community Council is 90 years old this year. One of the First Rural Community Councils to be established ORCC has given 90 years of encouragement to the villages and rural people of the county
Celebrate your vibrant rural community and ORCC’s 90th Birthday
ORCC warmly invites your community, through the Parish/Town Council, to join in to celebrate 90 years of ORCC work for, and with, strong vibrant rural communities in Oxfordshire. Use the occasion to show the very best of rural life here in Oxfordshire. Tell them about at least one feature of your community, which you think makes it special. This could be a community-run activity, service, facility or other feature - or a particular community champion who stands out because they are making something (or lots of things!) happen. If you can’t make a choice of just one, please limit yourselves to three.
ORCC aims to include each community’s feature in a special commemorative 90th Birthday publication. Every contributing community will receive a free copy, and copies will also be sent out widely both within the county and beyond. The publication will be a wonderful way of congratulating Oxfordshire’s market towns, villages and hamlets on the enterprising local efforts that go to make – and keep - thriving, caring rural communities. It will also be a great way of sharing the best ideas from right across the county.
Communities of all shapes and sizes, including yours, will have at least one feature to celebrate – so tell ORCC about it! They hope to hear from as many of you as possible by 31 March 2010 at the latest.
As part of the celebrations why not become a member of ORCC and receive their invaluable regular news bulletin full of information and advice.
