HARVEST FESTIVAL RESOURCE MATERIAL
{also useable at Lammas!}

Farm Crisis Network has produced a handy booklet with a range of resources for Harvest festival worship. The booklet is available electronically in a pdf format so you will need adobe acrobat on your computer to access it.
Farm Crisis Network , a Christian voluntary organisation, is part of the churches pastoral support for the farming community. Those needing support can access FCN through a Helpline staffed by volunteers and available every day of the year between 7am and 11pm(with answerphone out of those hours) 0845 367 9990. Last year over 3,000 farming families were supported by FCN volunteers; already this year calls to the Helpline have increased and FCN is much in demand. FCN offers practical and emotional support to farming families who might call with needs ranging from personal and emotional problems, health-related concerns, and business issues. Debt is rising for many farming families, sometimes because of swingeing product prices and the demands of buyers and consumers; many of FCN's callers experience problems of loneliness, social isolation and depression; problems with changing legislation can put pressure on business and emotions.

The booklet of resources can also be used with an accompanying Power Point presentation as part of the worship. Material is free but FCN hopes that users might consider either taking a collection as part of the Harvest Service or sending a donation. Like many voluntary organisations currently, FCN's income is being affected by the economic downturn.
